Meeting for Lunch began with a blessing from Dcn. Estevan Wetzel

Committee Updates:

V. P. Programs – Teresa Ornelas

Teresa is working on getting speakers to fill all meeting for 2019.  She is asking that our speakers cover one of three topics:  Their Vocation Story (or Vocation News), update on current Church Teachings or How each Serra can grow in Holiness.

V. P. Membership – Open

We had a general sharing of how to get the word out about the West Valley Club and we came up with these activities:

  1.  Most effective is a personal invitation to someone you know that has a heart for the church/vocations or wants to grow in holiness.

  2. Invitation business cards to have the address and the name of our organization to hand out

  3. The District Governor Dave Maza to visit the Deanery to get priest aware and support

  4. It was decided that someone can come as a guest twice

Introduction of Guest Speaker Dcn. Estevan Wetzel

Fr. Paul asked Dcn. Estevan to help with the new Phoenix Seminary Nazareth House.  In this role he provided all the food and operational supplies.  In addition, Dcn. Estevan helps with the intentional formation of our seminarians.  They have a strict schedule so that they can learn and be accountable to one another.  Dnc. Estevan shared their schedule and many of the activities within the house.  The goal of the Nazareth House is to help form the whole person so they would be better equipped for success in seminary and priesthood.

Closed with the Prayer of Preserving Vocations and a Blessing form Dcn. Wetzel.  In addition, we were able to donate remaining lunches (sandwich boxes) to the Seminary.
